Beat the Heat on Summer

Posted by January at 7:36 AM
It's Summer here in the tropical country Philippines, and everybody can feel the heat even our little ones. Babies do feel uneasy whenever the weather is warm and distressing, and cooling them down is not an easy task.

How are we going to cope with the challenge? Here's some of the tips that can help our babies beat the summer heat.

1. Of course for those who have air conditioning at home, you can always turn it on the whole day if you want. Just close your eyes and pay the electric bill without seeing the amount to be paid because I'm sure it's twice the usual. But for family like us, keeping our place well ventilated by opening all the windows and to be accompanied by an electric fan is the best option.

2. Keep babies hydrated. Most babies will drink their milk 50% more than the usual. For babies 6 months above giving them water aside from formula is also an option.

3. Give your baby a bath everyday or even twice a day to freshen them up.

4. Lastly, don't over dress you babies with overalls just for the sake they look cute on it, instead let them wear cotton sleeveless shirts and shorts/panties/briefs.

These are some of the tips that I had done to help my little one feel fresh during the day.

How about you? Do you have any tips? Feel free to share.

Photo Session # 1 Roll-Over

Posted by January at 1:52 AM
I had planned to have a photo session with my son, taking off his clothes and make him roll-over was my goal.

On his 6th month birthday my goal was somewhat completed but was not able to make him smile a LOT. He was not in the mode to smile infront of the camera. I guess having a photo session in the afternoon was not his thing. Maybe next time we'll do it early morning.

So far so good here's some of the takes...

Watch out for another photo shoot soon...

Baby Bath Time

Posted by January at 6:54 PM
Xye loves the water...
Xye likes to play while taking a bath..
Xye enjoys bath time very much...

Baby Xye: I had to take a bath as early as 6:30am everyday because mom has to rush to office after. Even though it's too early but I enjoy it. It's my favorite time of the day aside from feeding of course. Thanks Mom!

Celebrating 6th Month Birthday

Posted by January at 9:18 PM
Our bundle of joy had just turned six months on May 15, 2011.

We had a simple celebration with friends and of course he had his monthly birthday cake especially made for him by Lanie of Sweet Cravings.

I've made a vow to buy him a cake every month until he'll turn 1 year. winkz*

Ready to Start Solids?

Posted by January at 7:50 PM
Accordingly. babies are ready to start solids if he can hold his head up, can sit properly when supported, can make chewing motions such as moving his food back in his mouth and swallow, has gained weight and display curiosity like eyeing your meal when you're eating.

Usually at six months babies are ready to be introduced with solid foods such us rice cereals.

Since Xye had turned 6 months yesterday May 15, 2011 and already does the above signs, he finally tasted his first solid yesterday.

I had him sat on his inflatable chair first. He was so curious and kept looking at the spoon, he did not swallow the first 1st and 2nd spoonful of rice cereal (Nestle Cerelac).

After 2 tries I had to lay him down on a pillow inclining it about 45 degrees. He finally swallowed his 3rd spoonful of cereal, from then on he's too impatient to wait for the next. lol

Xye just had 1 tablespoon of rice cereal mixed on a 30ml of water on his 6th month birthday. Yippee!

Congratulations! for an empty bowl. lol
